On February 7, 2014, I gave a 30-minute lecture about the famous soprano Sissieretta Jones, also known as the “Black Patti.” It was sponsored by the University of South Carolina Libraries and held at the Thomas Coooper Library on the USC Campus. In addition to my lecture, soprano Rose Davis, accompanied on the piano by Al Davis, sang three songs Sissieretta Jones performed often during her career. You can see the lecture and hear the concert and lecture on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYepLzfPlTg). If you scroll about 15 minutes into the lecture, you’ll find the mini-concert by Rose Davis. Hope you enjoy!
